Ontology Design Patterns

Over the last decade, members of the Bio-Health Informatics Group at the University of Manchester - in particular, Dr. Alan Rector, Dr. Robert Stevens and their colleagues - through their work on a wide variety on KR/KM/KD efforts as The Galen Project, the Gene Ontology Next Generation (GONG) Project and fundamental contributions to application of OWL to semantically-driven data integration and bioinformatic knowledge representation, have been accumulating a variety of effective Design Patterns for practical ontology development. This work has more recently found a home in the CO-ODE Project.
